Memorial Day celebration.
This year's salute will be for our many veterans and those actively defending our country, in wars and service around the world.
A Three Part Festival from 1:00-4:00 PM
…featuring 1,500 flags lining the pathways, Department of Homeland Security Blackhawk Helicopter landing, Pearl Harbor Survivors, bands, free food, and so much more including…
1:00-2:00 PM Festival Concert
Featuring Travis Brass from the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West
2:00-3:00 PM Remembrance Ceremony
The Price of Freedom wartime memories told by Grant Fishbook; plus Bellingham Pipe Band Processional, Emcee Debbie Chavez of the Debbie Chavez Show, Invocation by Lt. Col. Mike Kirkelie-U.S. Army Ret’d., Flag Arrival by Department of Homeland Security Blackhawk Helicopter, Flag Raising by Anthony Nady- Pearl Harbor Survivor, Thunderbirds/4H dove release, National Anthem by Christian recording artist Malcolm Oliver, Wreath Ceremony by American Legion Post 7 Auxiliary, Veterans Family Flower Placement with Active Duty Military Escorts, Historic Flyover by the Heritage Flight Museum, and Military Honors Presentations by the WA Army National Guard and American Legion Post 7.
3:00-4:00 PM Festival Reception
Featuring Pearl Harbor Survivors and 40’s-Style Pakawalups
Post-Ceremony family-oriented activities include a Pearl Harbor Survivor Autograph Session, chance to meet the people behind the wartime stories-Anthony Nady, Roger Allen, Daphne Grady, Walter Young, Michael Christensen, music by the 40-style Pakawalups, Lynden Pioneer Museum’s WWII USMC/Army Encampment (complete with “Mable,” a WC-55 Dodge 1943 Weapons Carrier), Thank-A-Soldier Program, Kids Activity, and free food and beverages including Hemplers Hot Dogs, Franz baked goods, and Woods Coffee.
Throughout Memorial Day Weekend
The “Avenue of Flags” featuring over 1,500 Veterans Flags lining the pathways of Greenacres Memorial Park.

Designated Handicap Parking: for permit holders, as space allows
