This year's salute will be for our many veterans and those actively defending our country, in wars and service around the world.
A Three Part Festival from 1:00-4:00 PM:

Albert J. Hamilton American Legion Post 7 in honor of Staff Sgt. Mark Wells who was killed
in Afghanistan, Thunderbirds/4H dove release, National Anthem by the Navy Band
Northwest, Wreath Ceremony by American Legion Post 7 Auxiliary, Veterans Family
Flower Placement with Active Duty Military Escorts, and Military Honors Presentations by
the Washington Army National Guard Honor Guard, American Legion Post 7, and Riggs
Nelson (Taps).
3:00-4:00 PM Festival Reception
Featuring Pearl Harbor Survivors and 40’s-Style Pakawalups
Post-Ceremony family-oriented activities include a Pearl Harbor Survivor Autograph
Session (and their official drivers with the Whatcom County Studebaker Drivers Club),
music by the 40-style Pakawalups, Lynden Pioneer Museum’s WWII USMC/Army
Encampment, Jerry Stewart Book Signing, Thank-A-Soldier Kids Activity, and free food
and beverages including Hemplers Hot Dogs, Franz baked goods, Woods Coffee, and a
Hilltop dessert.
Throughout Memorial Day Weekend
Avenue of Flags featuring over 1,500 Veterans’ Flags lining the paths of Greenacres
Memorial Park in Ferndale.

Parking
The parking entrance is on Northwest Dr., on the north
side of the Park. Designated handicap parking for
permit holders is available as space allows.
Seating
It is suggested to bring chairs due to limited seating.
